San Francisco: Facebook New Photo Bug Compromise 6.8 Millions Users Private Photos. Worlds tops social media network Facebook.com admitted that about 6.8 millions users private photos or their photo gallery being exposed to third party developed applications. The Facebook on Friday admitted and said more than 1500 applications built by 876 developers may have also been got affected by the bug. which exposed users private unshared photos from photo gallery during a 12 day period from 13 to 25 September 2018. Facebook also confirmed, it has fixed the breach and will roll out next week which is”tools for app developers that will allow them to determine which people using their app might be impacted by this bug.”
The bug gets allowed to those apps to see the pictures of Facebook Users that they were not granted access to.Facebook initially didn’t disclose when it discovered the bug, but in response to inquiry, a spokesperson says that it was discovered and fixed on September 25th
This Bug is another example of Facebook’s failure to properly protect users’ privacy that may drew more criticism of its privacy policy.
