Bangkok: The Philippines’ beauty Catriona Gray As Miss Universe 2018 on Monday 17th December 2018, from contestants from across 94 other countries.
This all contestants gathered in Bangkok at Sunday night for a live, three hour special that includes everything from swimsuit competition to evening gown contest showing to the infamous final question contest.
Catriona Gray was named Miss Universe for Year 2018. Catriona Gray is 24-Year Old Singer and Model. She wore a sparkling red dress and she said the Sparkling Red dress is inspired by a volcano in the Philippines as she was handed the crown to the delight of a roaring crowd in Bangkok that generally favored Southeast Asian contestants.
Catriona also added, the reason behind wearing sparkling red gown is, “when I was 13 my mom said she had a dream that I would win Miss Universe in a red dress.” She said her mom cried when they saw each other after she won the competition.
“My heart is filled with so much gratitude,” Gray said. “There were moments of doubt where I felt overwhelmed and I felt the pressure.”
Asked what she thought about legalizing marijuana, Gray said: “I’m for it being used for medical use, but not so for recreational use. Because I think if people will argue, then what about alcohol and cigarettes? Everything is good but in moderation.”

Gray edged out first runner-up Tamaryn Green of South Africa and third-place Sthefany Gutierrez of Venezuela. She succeeds Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa.
