Who’s the liar now? Trump or Cohen? According to a BuzzFeed News report, US President Donald Trump instructed Michael Cohen, his former lawyer, to lie to the US Congress. But the US President denies this and firmly states in his Twitter Tweet, “I never directed Michael Cohen to break the law. He was a lawyer and he is supposed to know the law. It is called “advice of counsel,” and a lawyer has great liability if a mistake is made. That is why they get paid.”

This remark was made by US President Donald Trump, three days after Michael Cohen’s lawyers, in a court filing, asked a judge, to give Michael Cohen no prison time when he is sentenced. In August, Cohen had pleaded guilty, to multiple counts of tax evasion, finance violations of the US Presidential campaign and lying to the bank. Theoretically, Michael Cohen could be sentenced to 70 years in prison, for all the crimes he has been accused of committing.

Michael Cohen claims he has made “hush hush” payments to two women who have claimed that they have had affairs with the US President, more than a decade back. The two women are Karen McDougal (Playboy model) and Stormy Daniels (porn star). Michael Cohen had once said he was ready to take a bullet for Donald Trump. But now, he pleaded guilty to the US congress, to lying about the US President’s Trump Tower Moscow project. Michael Cohen has also lied to the US Congress, about dealings that the US President has had with Russia.

The BuzzFeed News report was slammed by Hogan Gidley, White House official, who said,
“This is absolutely ludicrous that we are giving any type of credence or credibility to a ‘news outlet’ like BuzzFeed. They are responsible completely and totally for the release of a discredited, proven false dossier. We’re also talking about a person in Michael Cohen, who quite frankly has now been proven to be a liar. He self-admits that he’s a felon. So to give him any credibility, it just doesn’t warrant any response from the White House or this President.”
