“US-China Trade Talks Going Well” Trump Tweeted

WASHINGTON: Thursday, 31st January 2019, US president Donald Trump was optimistic about high level US-China Trade talks with Chinese officials’ members in Washington. But Donald Trump also stated there is no final deal would be made until he personally meets with President of China XI Jingpang.

Letter from Xi Jingpang to President Trump that was read out by the Chinese delegation, Xi Jingpang said relations were at a “critical” stage and that he hoped “our two sides will continue to work with mutual respect.”

This talks between United States and China started on Wednesday 30 January 2019, which includes bridging deep differences over China’s intellectual property and transfer of technology practices.

The president Donald Trump was scheduled to meet with vice premier Liu He of china at the white house on Thursday.

The meeting with China’s top trade negotiators is “Going Well with good intent and spirit on both sides”, President trump tweeted on twitter. “China does not want an increase in Tariffs and feels they will do much better if they make a deal. They are correct.”.

President also tweeted “No final deal will be made until my friend President Xi, and I, meet in the near future to discuss and agree on some of the long standing and more difficult points”.

Media reports indicated the two sides were considering a meeting in Asia in late February to seal a deal, days before their three-month truce is due to expire and US duty rates on $200 billion in Chinese imports will more than double, sending a shock through the global economy.

“Nothing is unresolved”

President also said negotiators from both side are working well to complete the deal as early as possible, “Nothing is unresolved” before 1st March 2019, which is agreed by both sides.

Tump also added

We haven’t talked about extending the deadline,” Trump said.
