Tensions in the Middle East rose sharply after Iran launched missile attacks targeting US military bases across the Gulf region. Thick smoke was seen rising from the Juffair area in Bahrain, where the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet is located.
Reports suggest the base was hit after Iran warned it would retaliate following recent joint military operations by the United States and Israel.
Iran is said to have first launched dozens of missiles toward Israel before expanding its response to US-linked military targets in the Gulf.
Multiple US Bases Targeted Across the Region
The missile strikes were not limited to Bahrain.
Iran reportedly targeted several key military installations, including:
- Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar
- Al Saleem military base in Kuwait
- Muwaffaq al-Salti Air Base in Jordan
Explosions were reported near these locations as missile alerts were activated.
Authorities in Bahrain also sounded warning sirens to alert residents as the situation developed.
Explosions Heard in UAE
The impact of the conflict was also felt in the United Arab Emirates.
Explosions were heard in parts of Abu Dhabi following Iranian missile launches. Witnesses reported loud booms across the city.
A missile strike was also reported near Al Dhafra Air Base
A civilian was reportedly killed after being hit by shrapnel from the missile attack.
Earlier, similar loud sounds were reported in Dubai as well, though officials did not immediately confirm the cause.
Iraq Also Sees Fresh Airstrikes
As the conflict widened, US-Israel forces carried out an airstrike in Baghdad targeting the Iran-backed Popular Mobilization Forces
The strike reportedly killed one member and injured three others.
Growing Regional Impact
The situation has now moved beyond direct confrontation between Iran and Israel.
Missile exchanges, base attacks, and airstrikes across multiple countries show the conflict is spreading across the region.
US officials had earlier advised military personnel in Bahrain to prepare for departure and urged citizens to take shelter.
Situation Remains Tense
With attacks reported across Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, UAE, and Iraq, the conflict is entering a dangerous phase.
Regional governments are monitoring the situation closely as military activity continues across the Gulf.
