The performance took place on March 13 and marked the beginning of Apple’s global celebrations before its official anniversary on April 1.
Surprise Concert at Apple Store
Many people inside Grand Central Terminal were surprised when Alicia Keys appeared and started performing at the Apple store. She played a bright pink grand piano and sang some of her popular songs.
The singer performed well-known tracks like Fallin’ and You Don’t Know My Name. The busy train station quickly turned into a small concert venue as people stopped to watch and record the performance.
Journalists, content creators, Apple executives and invited guests were also present during the event.
Apple CEO Tim Cook attended the performance and welcomed guests as the celebration began.
Apple Celebrates 50 Years of Innovation
Apple will officially complete 50 years on April 1, 2026. The company was founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne.
Over the past five decades, Apple has grown into one of the most influential technology companies in the world.
In a message shared for the anniversary, Tim Cook said Apple has always believed in “thinking different.” He thanked customers, developers and employees who helped the company grow over the years.
Cook said Apple will continue to create products that help people connect, create and express themselves.
Products That Changed Technology
During its long history, Apple has introduced several products that changed the technology industry.
Early computers like the Apple II and Macintosh helped bring personal computers to homes and offices.
Later, Apple launched popular devices such as the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
The company has also entered new areas of technology with products like the Apple Vision Pro headset.
Apple’s services ecosystem has also grown over the years. Platforms such as the App Store, Apple Music, Apple Pay and iCloud are now used by millions of people around the world.
Alicia Keys and Apple Collaboration
Alicia Keys has worked with Apple before. She performed at the Apple Music Festival in London and also took part in Apple’s concert events in New York.
She was also featured in an immersive video experience for the Apple Vision Pro headset called “Alicia Keys: Rehearsal Room.”
Her performance at the Grand Central Apple store helped start the company’s anniversary celebrations in a memorable way.
More Events Expected
Apple said more celebration events will take place in the coming weeks as the company approaches its 50th anniversary.
The celebrations will highlight how Apple’s technology has helped people connect, learn, create and work in new ways over the past five decades.
As Apple celebrates this milestone, the company says it will continue to focus on innovation and building products that improve everyday life.
