Trump is very edgy and doggedly attached to his office – and there is nothing that is surprising about this at all! Various public prosecutors are already in the starting blocks. It is about fraud, tax evasion, hush money payments and sexual abuse.
Cyrus Vance, prosecutor of Manhattan, called for an inspection of the tax returns of Trump, from 2011 to 2018, because of various allegations against him. But Trump resisted, right till the end. To this end, Trump was summoned during his tenure as American President, but never accepted it.
Falsification, Fraud, Evasion
In Manhattan, the public prosecutor’s office is investigating American President Donald Trump for falsification of accounts, insurance fraud, bank fraud and tax evasion. At the end of September 2020, tax documents of Trump were leaked, which showed that he had in 2019, paid only $750 in taxes on his income.
In the run-up to the 2016 American Presidential elections, hush money payments were made to many women and the Manhattan Public Prosecutor’s Office is investigating this. $ 150,000 was given to Karen McDougal, a former Playboy model. Stormy Daniels, a porn star, is believed to have been paid $130,000, by Michael Cohen, Trump’s ex-attorney.
In early 2019, Cohen had admitted that it was he who had arranged for the payments to be made, on behalf of Trump. According to Cohen, the money was supposed to prevent the women from bringing stories about their “alleged affairs” with Trump, to the public.
With his being ousted from the Oval Office, American President Donald Trump has now lost the immunity that came with the office. This was what had given Trump protection against legal prosecution, till the end. This is the only way in which Trump has time and time again been able to avoid clarifying about his so called ‘shady machinations’, committed by him in the past.
Investigations
Now there are landslides of lawsuits rolling towards Trump. A lethal landslide of over 30 legal proceedings is spiraling towards Trump. According to reports, 12 of these are investigations by Congress, 8 are at the state level and 10 are at the federal level.
There is a lawsuit between Trump’s ex-attorney Michael Cohen and Trump. According to reports, Cohen accused his former client of failing to pay more than $2 million in fees.
Now that Trump has lost the office of US President, he also loses his immunity – A huge problem for Trump, as there are now over 30 trials that lie in wait for him!
Allegations
Sexual harassment allegations will also play a big role in Trump’s misery. A former participant in “The Apprentice,” the TV show by American President Donald Trump, Summer Zervos, has accused him of sexually molesting her in the year 2017. The process was suspended in January of this year. Journalist E. Jean Carroll also reported Trump. She has claimed that in the mid-1990s, in a department store in New York, Trump raped her. Right till the end, these accusations were denied by Trump.
Though there is no immunity for American presidents, it is also a common practice that the American Head of State cannot be prosecuted. There would be corresponding internal guidelines.
