UAE Joins US-Led ‘Board of Peace’ for Gaza Stability

UAE Joins US-Led ‘Board of Peace’ for Gaza Stability

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially accepted an invitation from the United States to join the Board of Peace, a new international body proposed by US President Donald Trump to support peace efforts and post-conflict reconstruction in Gaza.

The decision was announced by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, following acceptance by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Support for Gaza Peace Plan

According to a statement issued by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country’s decision reflects its support for the full implementation of President Trump’s 20-point peace plan for Gaza.

The ministry said the plan is important for protecting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and ensuring long-term stability in the region.

The UAE also reaffirmed its confidence in Trump’s leadership on peace matters, pointing to the Abraham Accords as an example of successful diplomatic engagement in the Middle East.

UAE Ready to Play Active Role

The UAE said it is prepared to take an active role in the Board of Peace, contributing to cooperation, stability, and economic recovery.

Officials stated that the country would support efforts aimed at rebuilding Gaza and strengthening governance after years of conflict.

“The UAE believes lasting peace requires international cooperation and effective administration in Gaza,” the foreign ministry said.

What Is the Board of Peace?

The Board of Peace is part of Phase Two of the 20-Point Peace Plan, which focuses on post-war governance, demilitarisation, and reconstruction in Gaza.

Initially proposed last September, the board has since expanded in scope and may also help mediate broader global conflicts.

According to the White House, the board will oversee key areas such as:

  • Governance and administrative capacity
  • Regional cooperation
  • Infrastructure reconstruction
  • Investment and funding mobilisation
  • Long-term economic development

World leaders from around 60 countries have reportedly been invited to join the initiative.

International Backing and Regional Cooperation

The UAE welcomed the launch of the second phase of the peace plan and the creation of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, a temporary body established under a UN Security Council resolution.

UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy praised the diplomatic efforts led by the United States, along with the roles played by Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey in supporting regional stability.

Growing Global Interest

Over the past few days, several world leaders, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have received invitations to join the board.

The development comes shortly after Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s official visit to India, highlighting the UAE’s growing diplomatic engagement on global peace issues.

By joining the Board of Peace, the UAE has positioned itself as a key partner in international efforts to stabilise Gaza and support long-term peace in the Middle East. The move also strengthens cooperation between Abu Dhabi and Washington at a time when global attention remains focused on post-conflict recovery and regional security.
